The two singers are set to embark
on their 'Paul Simon and Sting: On Stage Together' tour, which begins on
February 8 and finishes on March 16.
Sting is set to embark on a string of tour dates with Paul Simon. Organizers from Live Nation announced on Tuesday, November 5 that the two musicians would hit arenas across North America in February and March 2014.
The organizers said as friends for many years, the collaboration between Simon and Sting on a tour would be a natural fit. According to a press release, at each stop "audiences will be treated to the unique pleasure of experiencing these two innovative musicians, in addition to solo performances with their respective bands, in what will surely be one of the most highly-anticipated concert events of 2014."
"We are thrilled to be bringing together these iconic artists," said Arthur Fogel, president of Global Touring and chairman of Global Music, Live Nation. "As individual artists, Paul and Sting have had a diverse and unique history, and I suspect the challenge for both of these prolific songwriters will indeed be narrowing down the song choices."
Dubbed "Paul Simon & Sting: On Stage Together" tour, the upcoming 18-date joint tour will kick off on February 8 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The two singers will also make a stop at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 4. The tour will wrap up on March 16.
Presale tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, November 6, at Sting and Simon's respective website. General sales for most performances will begin next Tuesday, November 12.
