Kate Middleton catches the bus with Barbara Windsor; London barely bats an eyelid

Kate Middleton having a gas on the bus with Barbara Windsor on the way into town. Nope, not the start of the best girls' night out ever - though throw a couple of bottles of Lambrini into the mix and BAM! - but a serious work outing to promote the excellent work of the Royal British Legion.

The unlikely pair were joined by Kate's husband Prince William for London Poppy Day and they all hopped on a Routemaster bus from Kensington Palace to visit High Street Kensington tube station, where a whole load of volunteers were waiting to greet them.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore her red LK Bennett coat from the 2011 collection and paired it with black court shoes and opaque tights.

When asked about little Prince George, the new mum explained: "He's half asleep."
The newly christened member of the Royal family had been a very good boy, his dad added, saying: "He's behaving himself this morning."

How exciting to see the Royals (and we include Babs in that, given that she used to be in charge of the Queen Vic) on the bus! This is definitely going to liven up our wait for the 38 in the rain tonight.
