In an interview with CBS' 'Sunday
Morning', the 'Lord of the Rings' actor opens up about separation from
his wife, saying that their marriage was 'challenging.'
Orlando Bloom opened up about separation from Miranda Kerr in a new interview with Rita Braver for CBS' "Sunday Morning". In the interview, the Legolas of "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" blamed his and Miranda's packed schedules for their split.
"You know, when you have two people who are incredibly busy and who are both very visible in the world, I think it can be challenging to keep that, that schedule and that kind of life in the same track, you know?" he says, as quoted by E! News.
"It's very challenging. You know, I love Miranda and she loves me. We both adore and love our son. We both recognize and realize that we're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives, raising our son," the actor added.
After three years of marriage, the couple announced in a joint statement in late October that they decided to go separate ways a few months back. Both of them, however, said firmly that they would keep supporting each other.
Speaking to a TMZ videographer as he stepped out in New York on October 26, Orlando said that he and Miranda would remain a family. "We're family, not friends. We're family," he said. At that time, the actor refused to elaborate on the reason of their split. Miranda, meanwhile, spoke of the separation for the first time when she was at New York's JFK Airport on Wednesday, giving similar statement to Orlando's.
