Rihanna gets hand tattoo to cover the other hand tattoo she got three weeks ago

SIT DOWN FOR THIS ONE IN SHOCK: Rihanna has got another tattoo. In other news, grass grew today, and the sky was blue, and the moon rotated around the earth.
Anyway, here’s the interesting bit: the tattoo Rihanna got was a cover-up designed to disguise the traditional, Maori-style hand inking she only had done three weeks ago, which itself covered up a hand tattoo Rihanna got in 2008. Stop getting tattoos on your hand, Rihanna! It really hurts!
New York-based tattoo artist Bang Bang – who did the tattoo, along with a number of inkings scattered around the popstar’s body – said Rihanna “flipped out” when she saw the new design, seeing as she loved it so much.

“She has something pre-existing on her hand,” he under-exaggerated. “So it was a little bit of a cover-up, but also making it look good [was a challenge] – [we] wanted to make sure it flowed.
“We needed to work with what she already had, because the stuff she already had was a pattern on skin. We were trying to mend the two styles with a new style.”
And Bang Bang revealed that Rihanna – who sat for the five hour inking with two artists – trusted them so much with the design that she fell asleep in the chair. This is why you have to keep getting new tattoos, Rihanna! Stay awake, lady!
“We drew on her hand from 7pm to midnight,” Bang Bang banged. “We were drawing and changing things.
“I’d take a break [London-based tattoo artist] Cally-Jo would draw, then I’d draw. The inspiration was henna art. We wanted something really decorative, feminine and sexy.”
