You remember how Lady Gaga released Born This Way, which sounded a teeny-weeny bit (okay, an awful lot) like Madonna's Express Yourself? Mmhmm, it was all scathing words and unbridled hatred once Madge heard the tune on the radio.
Which is why we were nervous to hear that Olly Murs had, like Gaga, paid homage to his musical hero Robbie Williams with Hand On Heart, a song (and video) which were totally inspired by Rob's Angels.
Thankfully for Olly, however, Robbie is a seriously happy chappy. So, even though Olly has sort of imitated the tune, filmed his video in the exact same location ANDn hired Vaughan Arnell to film it (yup, the director of Rob's Angels vid), Robbie is COOL with it.
"Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I am easily flattered, and I love Olly. We always have a good time together and this was no exception," the former Take Thatian said.
See? That's probably how you should have responded to Born This Way, Madonna. It looks much classier - and it means you get your very own cameo role in the video too!
But we guess it is different for Robbie and Olly - unlike Gaga and Madge, they're already good friends. In fact, Rob invited the former X Factor contestant to support him on his recent European Tour - and it was for that reason that Olly was so keen to get his BFF's approval for the new song.
"I was really excited by the idea for this video and to get Rob involved was important to me. We had great fun filming it and I am so pleased it’s got his stamp of approval," said Olly.
