Simon Cowell has started talking baby names - and it seems he has the perfect one picked out for his and Lauren Silverman's unborn son…

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has started talking baby names and, Simon being Simon, there's a clear number one choice…
Yup, it's Simon. Obviously.
Speaking with Terri Seymour, who also happens to be Si's ex-girlfriend (awkward, much?), Simon explained that he's busily trying to persuade Lauren Silverman, who's five months pregnant with his baby, to let him name the little tyke after him.

"My number one choice is Simon because I like the name."

 

Well, duh.
However, JUST in case Lauren decides that Simon naming his baby son Simon is a clear indication of, say, extreme egomania, he has a backup choice in place.
And, rather sweetly, it's Eric - the same name as his late father.
He explained: "His birthday is going to be very close to my dad's birthday."

The usually cold-as-ice judge then showed a softer side, admitting that his father would be "very proud" and "amazed" to have a grandson. If THAT doesn't persuade Lauren that Eric's the right name for Simon's baby boy, we don't know what will.
