'It's not a war. It's a takeover,'
so a character says as an image of a newspaper headline highlights the
murder of a mobster by a gangland kingpin.
Less than a month before the "Mob City" premiere, TNT releases a new promo for its new show from former "The Walking Dead" showrunner Frank Darabont. The video gives a preview of a police officer declaring a war against mobsters in Los Angeles as a gangland kingpin rises to the top of L.A.'s criminal world and takes over the city.
Jeremy Luke stars as Mickey Cohen, a former boxer who turns into the most dangerous mobster in L.A., while Neal McDonough plays William H. Parker, the chief of the L.A.P.D. bent on taken down Cohen. Caught in the conflict between Parker and Cohen is Joe Teague, a marine turned police officer, portrayed by former "Walking Dead" star Jon Bernthal.
Based on "John Buntin's L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City", the period drama set in 1940s Los Angeles is described as a seductive story of the violent crime underbelly of America's most glamorous city and those who wanted to control it.
Darabont wrote and directed the pilot of the six-episode series, which will debut Wednesday, December 4 at 9/8c on TNT.
