Kate Middleton, better known to her loyal subjects as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, is one of the country's biggest style icons. But, despite every single outfit she wears becoming the ultimate must-have for savvy high-street shoppers everywhere, it seems as if Prince William's wife is ready for a style overhaul.
Yup, just like a lot of yummy mummies out there, Kate is apparently keen for a post-baby makeover - and she's been looking to Prince George's godmother, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, for advice.
“Kate admires Emilia’s style. Emilia has become increasingly important to her and Kate always uses her as a sounding board. Emilia is trying to move Kate away from the Middleton neutral palate and push her towards colour or pattern,” a source told Grazia magazine.
“Emilia loves vintage and tries to get Kate to be a bit more quirky.”
So that's less beige, more colour, vintage detailing and a whole lotto quirkiness to look out for, copy-Kates!
Emilia, who has been friends with Kate since school, has always had strong opinions on the royal's fashion sense. And not always for the right reasons.
“When they were at school she used to tease Kate about her prim Jigsaw shirts and hated those fur gilets Kate wore."
Colour us very intrigued. While we love Kate's simple, classic style, we quite like the idea of seeing the Duchess in brighter colours (jewel tones would be fitting for a royal, wouldn't they?) and different textures, such as lace or brocade.
We guess we'll have to wait and see if Prince George's godmother can become Kate's real-life FAIRY godmother, giving her a complete style overhaul. And, if it all goes wrong, we bet Gok Wan would be happy to step in and put things right again...
