Jennifer Lawrence the victim of hilarious prank - and, yes, it was her Hunger Games co-stars who did the punking…

Jennifer Lawrence is set to storm her way onto our screens as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire this month, a totally serious film which details a young woman's struggle to survive in a dystopian society.

But, while the film itself carries a pretty intense message or two, the stars of the show are fans of all things silly, hilarious and ridiculous. So when J-Law bagged herself a Best Actress gong at the Oscars in 2013, it left co-stars Josh Hutcherson, who plays Jen's on-screen love interest Peeta Mellark, and Sam Claflin, new guy Finnick Odair, desperate to acknowledge her success.

With a prank. Naturally.

Sam revealed that he and Josh got Jen a special present to say "WELL DONE FOR THAT OSCAR, YOU BLOODY ACTING HERO!" - but they didn't want to hand it over to her with a smile and a pat on the back…
"Josh Hutcherson and I are like Jennifer Lawrence's younger brothers - we loved picking on her,” he told InStyle magazine.

“When she came back to film after winning her Oscar, we got her a Tiffany jewellery box with a charm inside to say congrats - but put ten crickets in with it! She didn't open it until she was in her trailer - we all waited outside for the scream."

 

Something tells us Jen wouldn't have minded too much. She's admitted in past interviews that she loves fooling around with Josh and Sam on-set, even going so far as to teach them the cheeseburger game.


Whaddaya mean, you've never heard of the cheeseburger game?

“Oh, this is something my brothers did growing up that now the boys at work have picked up and are obsessed with. You cup [your fart] and then you throw it in someone’s face and say ‘Take a bite out of that cheeseburger.’”

 

Yeah. Crickets ain't got nothing on those cheeseburgers, have they?
