Joan Collins reveals the secret to eternal youth and a successful marriage. Are you ready for this?

Joan Collins turned 80 earlier this year, but the actress shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, according to one journalist, her face looks sensational up close; "all glittering eyes, burgundy lips and precipitous cheekbones."
Precipitous, yes. Now there's a word we're going to be dropping casually into conversation whenever we can from now on!
So what's Joan's big secret? We know she did Botox once, but… there's got to be something else going on. Has she been bathing in milk, like Cleopatra? Has she been sipping her morning coffee from the Holy Grail? Or has she, y'know, been massaging the blood of thirty virgins into her skin every single day since the dawn of forever?
Nope. It's all a lot simpler than that, actually.
"Avocados," she coyly confessed to The Independent.
"You know, I really think I should do a commercial for avocados, as they are so good for the skin."

She added: "I exercise, but I'm no Jane Fonda. And I did very well in the genetic pool."
Joan Collins has been married FIVE TIMES in her life, but the actress hasn't let multiple divorces put her off the idea. In fact, as she enters her ninth decade, she actually thinks she's got the whole nuptial thing figured out now.
"Friendship is the key. What a shame it took me so long to work that out!"

"[Marriage] is the definitive commitment – says she who has been married five times! But I do think it's very important, if you're going to spend the rest of your life with somebody, to know that you really like them. Because when the pheromones wear off, which of course they will, you have to have a strong basis."
Wow, we're learning a lot today, aren't we? But eating avocados and marrying your best friend aren't the only thing Joan has taught us this week - she's also filled us in on how best to be a modern-day feminist.
"I think I probably am [a feminist], at least if it means when a woman is exactly equal to a man except physically. But wanting to cover oneself in jewels or couture or make-up and cherish being a woman, I don't think there's anything wrong with that either."

"We should celebrate being a woman and having the opportunities to do things that our mothers and grandmothers were not allowed to do. They were expected to stay at home and do the cooking and the cleaning."
"Though of course now we're expected to do the cooking and the cleaning and the working."
Sometimes it's hard to be a woman, eh Joanie?
