With Christmas coming up, Kanye must have been really drawing a blank on what to gift Princess Kim with. A pearl covered Unicorn's horn necklace? Too Autumn/Winter 2012. A hair weave made from pure spun gold? He created leather jogging pants - he's better than that. All of the diamonds of the world fused together to make her own crystal castle from? No, too low-key.
Instead, he's commissioned Andy Warhol's cousin, Monica Warhol, to paint Kimmy. And laughing her way through the no-doubt sizeable bunch of dollars he's throwing her way is Monica, who said: “She’s an icon. She’s famous for nothing." Oh.
Hang on, there's more: "Andy would have loved her. Kim is beautiful. She’s so manufactured. She looks like a human Barbie.” Which is one of the most backhanded compliments we've heard in a long time - and we watch Made in Chelsea.
In no way borrowing heavily from her uncle Andy's work, Monica also screenprints her subjects - like Flo Rida and Lenny Kravtiz - in the typical Warholian bright colours, but Monica insists: "“I never studied Andy. I never owned a book about him until about a year ago." Just a happy coincidence then? And heat's resident art expert has mocked up what it might look like...
It won't be the first picture that kind Kanye has bought Kim. Back in October, as well as proposing in possible the most ostentatious manner in history, he also reportedly bought her another birthday present: a six foot portrait of himself lounging on a bed in a crown.
Which just begs the question, where will Kim's picture finally hang in their mansion? As we're sure Kanye's seen to it that his mug already takes pride of place over their (almost) marital bed...
