TODAY welcomes Rockefeller Center Christmas tree + VIDEO

New York City is noted for being ablaze with light and color throughout the holiday season, but there's no place like Rockefeller Center.

This year's tree from Connecticut is a 76-feet tall, 12-ton Norway spruce!
Traditionally lit on the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving, watch for the annual tree lighting to be officially scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, December 4, 2013 with a special televised ceremony on NBC from 7 - 9PM ET.
The late start time in December this year means that the famous tree will remain lit into the New Year until Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
