Aaron Taylor-Johnson has reportedly signed a deal to play Quicksilver in Marvel sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The Nowhere Boy star has been in talks with director Joss Whedon and producer Kevin Feige for some time and now The Wrap reports he has closed a deal to play the superhero.
The delay was caused while details were ironed out as the shooting schedule for Age of Ultron overlaps with the publicity tour for Aaron's upcoming Godzilla reboot.
Aaron recently said he wanted to find a new look for the character, since his Kick-Ass co-star Evan Peters is set to portray the same character in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
He said earlier this year: "I don't just rock up and put on the suit. I'm not an actor who does that. I get bored of that. What I'm trying to do when I speak to them is to create the character, putting aside the super power, and find his look".
Quicksilver is one of two new characters that director Joss is introducing in the sequel, along with the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). They are twin children of villain Magneto .
