Simon Webbe has tweeted his support for band mate Lee Ryan following the singer’s arrest on Friday night.
Lee was arrested for alleged possession of drugs when police flagged down the singer in his car after he was ‘driving erratically.’
Following the news of his arrest, Simon tweeted: ‘On the outside you see one thing but deep down your sinking! @ LeeRyanMusic WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS OUR FANS KNOW YOU! Stay strong brother.’
A spokesman for the star also released a statement, reading: ‘No excuses will be made, but he will be seeking professional help.’
‘I can confirm that Lee was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning. He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and is awaiting a court date.’
‘He was charged with failure to provide a specimen and criminal damage. A controlled substance was found in his possession.’
‘This low point has caused considerable concern to Lee's family, loved ones, and of course the Blue boys... No excuses will be made on Lee's behalf, but he will be seeking professional help for those issues that he has been unable to overcome on his own.’
The police confirmed that the star will appear in court next month.
They released a statement reading: ‘Lee Ryan, 30, will appear on bail at Ealing Magistrates' court on Friday, May 2, charged with failing to provide a specimen and criminal damage.’
