According to sources, a 'fairly
small quantity' of the 'Applause' hitmaker's new album will be stocked
at H and M stores accross the U.S. and sold for $9.95.
Lady GaGa has partnered with H&M to release her forthcoming album, "ARTPOP". According to Billboard, the Mother Monster's new album will be available in 175 of the clothing retailer stores in the U.S. this week.
Sources said that a "fairly small quantity" of the album would be stocked at the stores and wouldn't be replenished. The copies bought by H&M will be sold for $9.95 but will not count towards the Billboard charts.
GaGa's partnership with the Swedish retailer is not stopping there. The 27-year-old New Yorker will be the guest of honor at the opening of a new H&M store in Times Square, New York. She will cut the ribbon during the opening ceremony, which will be held on Thursday, November 14 at midnight.
GaGa's "ARTPOP" is set to drop on Monday, November 11. On Sunday, November 10, the "Applause" singer held an album release party at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. During the event, she introduced what she calls the world's first flying dress.
Volantis, the suit, features an uber-modern white curvy body mold made of fiber optics and six booms in a hex formation.
"Volantis is essentially a vehicle," she told the crowd of the high-tech dress, which was co-created by engineer Benjamin and designer Nancy. "I wanted to make today about something even more important to me. And what that something is the youth of the world."
"Although she is a vehicle, she is essentially a metaphor for me," she said of Volantis. "I will be a vehicle today for their voices... Youth all over the world."
