Sandra Bullock Googled herself and it wasn’t nice
You know when your best mate does something and you wish you could give them a little slap because whatever they have done was silly? That’s how we feel about this Sandra Bullock story.
Sandy B is obviously an awesome human being. We have wanted to be her many times in life, particularly when she was riding around on a bus with a very buff Keanu Reeves (yeah, yeah, so the bus had a bomb…). So when we heard she had spent an evening Googling herself we wanted to grab her and give her a good old shake. After which we would happily cuddle her and make margaritas, obvs. Why? Because the worldwide web is full of not very things and we don’t want lovely Sandy seeing any of that! Luckily for us (and her) the actress has thick skin and mega-LOLZ humour and managed to see the funny side of a few of the unsavoury comments she stumbled across.
Talking at the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2014 Awards Gala where she collected her Desert Palm Achievement Award (in yo’ faces haters!) Sandra gave the gathered audience some advice…
“So, I Googled myself and read the comments section, thinking I could get some tidbits of what people really think of me. No human being should ever read the comments sections or ever Google one's self at any time.
Some things I was very well aware of. 'Sandra Bullock is over 40' came up a lot. I know that. 'Sandra Bullock's way past 40'. Yeah, I know that too…
‘There's absolutely nothing special about her acting. She's not particularly attractive. I can't stand her, she's mediocre’…
And apparently Julia [Roberts, who was in the crowd]... You and I are in dispute over George Clooney. We talked about this, right? It's shared custody and we're both fine with it.”
We think we might have fallen head-over-heels for the Gravity star all over again.
