The 'Fast and Furious' star's
father gives his first interview following his son's death, saying, 'I'm
just glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him.'
Paul Walker's father, Paul Walker Sr., was emotional when he gave an interview one day after the accident which took his son's life. Speaking to CBS2 on Sunday, December 1, the actor's father talked about his son, saying that he considered taking hiatus from entertainment world to get closer to his daughter.
Meadow, Paul's teenage daughter with an ex-girlfriend, spent most of her life in Hawaii with her mother, but she recently moved in with her father. "[He told me], 'I want to take a hiatus, she's just 15, and I don't have much more time to be with her.' And then boom, he got another movie. He would say, 'I don't know what to do,' " Walker Sr. explained.
"I'm just glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him. And he would say the same thing to me," he continued, adding that Paul's siblings "are all taking it pretty hard." The "Fast and Furious" actor attended a charity event for the victims of typhoon Haiyan prior to the fiery car crash which killed him and his friend Roger Rodas. "His heart was so big. I was proud of him every day of his life."
The devastating news left many fans and his co-stars in shock. Michelle Rodriguez is the latest star who mourned the actor's passing. She wrote on Monday, December 2, "I'm gonna carry this torch for you brother, with a forced smile on my face. And Im gonna open my heart just cause your telling me to."
A source at the authorities told NBC News on Monday that drag race was not involved in the actor's fatal crash. Officials reportedly are currently focusing the investigation on the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT's speed when it hit a light pole.
