Mick's daughter Jade confirms in
an interview that the Rolling Stones frontman will be a
great-grandfather soon as her daughter Assisi is expected to give birth
in a few months.
Mick Jagger is going to become a great grandfather next year. Mick's daughter Jade told U.K.'s The Sunday Times that her 21-year-old daughter Assisi would give birth in a few months. The jewelry designer, however, added that the idea of having a great-grandchild apparently was "no longer particularly fascinating" for the member of The Rolling Stones as he had some grandchildren.
Assisi additionally talked about her pregnancy in an interview with Hello magazine, saying that having children at young age runs in the family. "The women in our family just tend to have children young, it runs in the genes," she said, as quoted by Daily Mail. "I grew up quite quickly and wouldn't have considered having a child if I was doing what my friends are doing at this stage, messing around. I don't drink, I don't smoke and I'm very settled."
The expectant mother also opened up about her grandfather's reaction to the baby news. "He said, 'Well done,' and I said, 'I didn't have to try too hard,' " Assisi revealed, adding that she shared the news in a phone call.
"I imagine it's nice to be a great-grandad - although I'm not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one. I call him Mick - I wouldn't start calling him grandpa," she added. Assisi's mother told the magazine that she believed her daughter would be a "perfect" mother. "She's a level-headed, sweet girl and I think it will give them both a lot of pleasure. It gives you an amazing purpose in life, to fulfil nature's destiny," Jade said
