Versace confirms in a Twitter post that the 'Applause' singer has been chosen as the face of their Spring/Summer 2014 campaign.
Lady GaGa has been named as the face of Versace for the company's Spring/Summer 2014 campaign. The Italian fashion house confirmed the news in a Twitter post. "#Versace proudly confirms @LadyGaga as the face of SS14 campaign shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott #VersaceLovesGaga," the announcement read. Ads featuring the singer will appear in magazines in January.
In addition to confirming the partnership, Versace shared first photo of the pop star for the campaign. In the photo, the Mother Monster can be seen wearing a light purple dress. Her long blond hair is styled loose as she lounges on a couch. She also wears some rings to complete the look.
The 27-year-old singer additionally showed her excitement on Twitter. "I'm so happy to be working w/ @Versace for the new Campaign! What do you wanna wear this Spring? #Donatella #famiglia," she wrote. Donatella Versace retweeted the post and added her response, "To a true iconic contemporary Versace woman: Thank you. -Donatella."
GaGa made headlines as she showed up at the American Music Awards on Sunday with a white horse costume operated by people. She sat on the horse while posing for pictures on the red carpet. The pop star later played Marilyn Monroe as she performed "Do What U Want" with R. Kelly, who played Mr. President. "Lady Gaga and R.Kelly killing the #AMAs right now!" LeBron James commented on the performance on his Twitter page.
