The 'Since U Been Gone' singer who
announced her pregnancy last week opens up about her condition on
'Today' show, saying that she feels sick all day.
Kelly Clarkson announced on Twitter on November 19 that she is expecting her first child with husband Brandon Blackstock. In her first interview since the announcement, the "Tie It Up" singer opened up about her pregnancy on "Today" show, saying that she was not feeling well despite her excitement.
"I don't know why they call it morning sickness because it's like all day and all night. I'm super excited about being pregnant. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester. They say it's better," she told Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday, November 26. The morning sickness actually forced her to cancel an appearance and reveal the baby news.
"I was just dying to tell people, but we were trying to wait until the end of my first trimester... but everybody kept talking about it and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill. I didn't want people to think that I'm canceling because I'm lazy or something. So, we just told people. But we had a really good reason," she revealed.
Although it is "way too early to know" the baby's sex, Kelly believes that she will have a baby girl. She and her husband have prepared a name for their baby whether it is a girl or a boy, but she does not want to share the names. "We're not saying because I don't want someone to steal my baby's name," the "American Idol" alum said.
