Unlike most celebrities Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell had a low-key court wedding ceremony, and Shepard took to Jimmy Kimmel Live to reveal the details about their nuptials and just how little it all cost.
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are not really a conventional couple and are not known for their extreme spending habits, like so many other Hollywood stars.
Their wedding budget reinforces that statement — the couple did not opt for a glamorous wedding ceremony but instead tied-the-knot in a simple and intimate court wedding at the Beverly Hills County Clerk's office on Oct. 17.Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Shepard joked about Kimmel's extravagant nuptials to Molly McNearney.
He said, "I'm a frugal person. Your wedding, when I was there, there were helicopters overhead. It felt like an episode of M*A*S*H."
Shepard continued to reveal the details of his own wedding, saying, "So we went to the Beverly Hills Court House and all in, with fuel to get there, $142 out the door."
"Friends of ours came to the courthouse, and it was just Kristen and I at this lonely Court House, so they brought us this cake afterwards. 'World's Worst Wedding.' How many people can say they threw 'The World's Worst Wedding?'"
The Parenthood actor may have joked about having had The World's Worst Wedding, but the traditional view of wedding ceremonies is fading fast and his blushing bride does not seem to mind that her nuptials were so low-key.
The Veronica Mars actress has been engaged to her beau since 2010, but decided to delay their wedding until California legalized same-sex marriage, which happened in June.
Earlier in the week, an excited Kristen revealed to People, "I'm still on a high. We actually did it. I can officially call him my husband, which is pretty awesome. Other than that, it feels exactly the same.''
''Life is great. I couldn't be happier.''
No plans for the honeymoon just yet, we wonder where the spontaneous pair will find themselves?
