The Nickelodeon star says that she
was joking because her microphone was off during her set, denying
accusation that she referred to the 'Come and Get It' singer's lip-sync
incident.
Ariana Grande had a little problem with Selena Gomez during KIIS FM Jingle Ball concert in Los Angeles on December 6. Some people accused the Nickelodeon star of dissing the former Disney darling for not singing live during her set.
The problem started when Gomez was caught lip-syncing after she suffered a technical malfunction onstage. Grande, who performed later and fortunately decided to sing live, also experienced similar technical issue as her microphone finally worked when the star was in the middle of performing a song.
She joked, "At least you know I'm not singing to a track." Some people thought that Grande made a mean reference to Gomez's lip-sync incident. However, Grande has denied it. She took to Twitter to explain that the whole thing was a misunderstanding.
"Ohhh Jesus. I wasn't throwing shade AT ALL," she tweeted after the event. "I didn't even see anyone else's set. I was sick backstage that's why I didn't even do the carpet," she tweeted. "I was just cracking a joke cause my mic was off. Everyone had tech difficulties. Sorry if it was taken the wrong way it wasn't my intention!"
Both Grande and Gomez are linked to Justin Bieber. Grande was rumored dating the Canadian star after she posted a photo of her being kissed by Gomez's ex-boyfriend.
