For us, an iPhone upgrade and something pretty to wear on our
wrists is already on the short list for the upcoming holiday season
(What? We start early!). But, news from WWD this morning might make shopping for yourself a tad easier. eBay is hooking up with the CFDA to create a limited-edition "wearable" tech bracelet
that will charge your iPhone 4/4S and transfer data from the device to
others. The adapter is also compatible with iPods, Android phones, and
Blackberry phones with the addition of a micro USB connector.
The five designers slated to create a custom bracelet include Mara Hoffman, Michael Bastian, Milly, Rachel Zoe, and Shipley & Halmos. However, the device doesn't seem to be compatible with the iPhone 5/5S, and it has no connection to the Apple iWatch that's rumored to be coming down the pipeline. Until then, indulging in a little Apple wrist action in this form won't cost you much: The bracelet will retail for a cool $25 and be available at eBay.com/holidaycollective starting November 11. All proceeds will benefit the CFDA.
